Pedodontics (children's treatment)
Pedodontics is the branch of dentistry dealing with children tooth prevention and dental treatment. Pediatric Dentistry puts special emphasis on preventing tooth decay, therefore, it is very important that a child from an early age should ne under constant dental care to exclude potential problems.
Adaptation visit
We know from our experience that first visit of a child is the most important one because it affects the whole subsequent attitude to a treatment. During a first visit we demonstate to child instruments and equipment. A child may ride in the chair, play with mammals, mannipulate console buttons and become familiar with everything that interests him or her, obvously, under discrete control of our staff.
Coloured fillings in milk teeth
Contrary to conventional opinions milk teeth should be treated in the same way as the permanent teeth. In addition to standard filling materials (white ones), we offer materials prepared specially for children, including multi-colored composites of Twinky Star brand. The culmination of the visit with a coloured filling will be child's motivation for the next visit during which one he he or she will win the filling in the next color to the collection.
Dental varnishing with Duraphat varnish
Varnishing is a fluoride preventive treatment in order to strengthen a tooth enamel and increase its resistance to decay. The more fluorine is incorporated in the structure of the enamel the more it is resistant to demineralization under the influence of acids produced by carious bacteria.
Teeth sealing
Sealing (otherwise groove sealing) it is a totally painles profilactic treatment to fill cracks occurring in the chewing surfaces of teeth with a special photopolymerisable material (a sealant). The grooves on the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars are the perfect place for debris deposition and a dental plaque development. The depth of grooves makes it virtually impossible to clear them properly.
A fissure sealant exactly fills up cracks and depressions on the tooth occlusal surface preventing them from a residual debris and bacteria. In this way it protects teeth from decay. To make tooth sealing treatment effective it should be performed as early as possible, when the grooves were not yet demineralization and decayed.
Cauterisation
Cauterisation is a technique involving impregnating tooth surface with a solution of silver nitrate, it is applied when the majority of the surface of the milk tooth is already badly damaged by decay and cannot be saved with a filling. Cauterization with silver nitrate can stop the decay, simultaneously saving the tooth from removal. The tooth is worth saving because the premature removal of milk teeth threatens subsequent malocclusion.
