During the first visit an orthodontist conduct a thorough examination of occlusion and muscle functions, and takes impressions for diagnostic dental plaster models. In order to carry out a full analysis of the occlusion, it is also necessary for the patient to take X-ray (cephalometric and pantomographic X-rays).
Removable orthodontic braces
Removable orthodontic braces are custom-made devices, which can be inserted and pulled out to mouth on his own by a patient. There are used various modifications of removable orthodontic aligner depending on treated maloclussion. Removable orthodontic aligner are made up of acrylic plates, wire, metal parts or screws or springs that are the source of the force on the teeth.
Most appropriate time to use them is a period of growth of children and adolescents. The duration of treatment by removable orthodontic appliances and its efficiency depends on the type of defect, age of patient and cooperation with a Doctor.
Dental (Orthodontic) Braces
Dental (Orthodontic) Braces are devices consisting of various types of fastenings (locks and rings) deposited with a help of special glue on the surface of permanent teeth. Dental braces make pressure on teeth during all time of a treatment and thanks to it that brings precise treatment’s effects.
Depending on custom patient’s needs there are recommended various types of dental brackets:
- Metal brackets - are cheaper and giving opportunity to vary image by colorful rubber bands that strengthen an arch.
- Aesthetic - are made up with ceramic and are less noticeable (tooth-colored).
